스페이스 원은 올해 2015년 심희린 인턴 전시 및 이벤트와 함께 마무리한다. 심희린은 1년 동안 스페이스 원과 함께 사진 아카이빙, 그래픽 디자인 및 여러 가지 일을 함께 해왔다. 현재 중앙대학교에서 전자공학 및 사진 (부전공)으로 그의 마지막 학기를 마치고 있다.

심희린의 작업 'I'm called "     "" 는 인간관계에서 일어나는 단편 성과 수동성을 인터엑티브한 설치물 및 퍼포먼스로 이끌어낸다.

/'관계 속에서 내 정체성은 일차원적으로 명명된다. 내 이름표는 나를 대변하고 나의 정체성을 단정 짓는다. 그 이름표는 상대적이기에, 새로운 관계가 시작될 때마다 타인은 나에게 새로운 이름표를 붙혀준다. 타인에 의해 명명됨으로써 나는 주체성을 잃는다. 이러한 관계 속에서 내가 할 수 있는 주체적인 행동은 반대로 타인을 이름 지어 주는 것뿐이다. 그러나 타인의 주체성을 뺏음으로써 나의 주체성은 회복되는가?' /작가노트 중

관객은 이름표로 심희린에게 명명되고, 심희린은 목소리 녹음을 통해 관객에게 명명된다. 이렇게 작업을 통해 서로 단편적이고 수동적인 관계를 이룬다.

Space One wraps up the year with an intern show and event by Heereen Shim. Shim has worked with Space One since the beginning of 2015, photo archiving and assisting in graphic design amongst many things. She is currently in her last year of undergraduate studies in Engineering with a minor in photography at Chung-Ang University.

Shim's work 'I'm called "     "" is an interactive installation and performance piece based on her experience in passive and one-dimensional relationships. 

'I meet new people. They label me. My label represents me and defines my identity. This label presents one side of who I am. The passive act of being labeled fragments my identity. Subjectivity is lost. Being labeled is unavoidable. The only subjective thing I can do is, label others. The question lingers; can my subjectivity be recovered by destroying others?'

Shim labels the audiences with a name tag and in return the audiences label Shim with their whispers into Shim's installation. Through this, all subjectivities are lost.

지나가던 조씨
“이름에 ‘지나가던’이라는 수식어가 붙긴 하지만, 정작 지나가던 조씨는 공연할 때 앉은 자리에서 많이 이동하지 않는다. 어찌 보면 제한된 공간 안에 자신을 가두는 것 같아 보이지만, 음악은 제법 자유롭다.” '지나가던 조씨'는 자유즉흥음악 연주자이다. 즉흥적으로 하모니카와 단모이 등의 악기를 연주하고 이펙터로 변조하여, 그 소리를 이어나가는 방식의 공연활동을 하고 있다. 홍대의 라이브클럽에서 활동을 시작하여 지금도 꾸준히 오픈마이크 및 기획공연에 참여하고 있으며, 요기가 갤러리의 '불가사리' 공연에도 자주 참여하고 있다. 최근에 참여한 집단 즉흥 공연으로는 'for instance'(2014), '시리즈 딱지 #3'(2015)가 있다.

이안-존 허치슨
이안-존은 2001년 오클랜드 대학에서 작곡자이자 악기제작자인 필 데드슨의 지도아래 수학했다. 그는 오클랜드(비티민 에스), 도쿄, 오사카(MIIT House) 그리고 서울(불가사리 및 즉흥공연그룹)에서 즉흥 공연 및 축제들에 참석해왔다. 2010년, 안양시 석수예술프로젝트에서 레지던시를 하였으며 2012년 광주비엔날레에서 공연했다. 그는 주요 관심영역은 블루스 하모니카와 수제 악기 그리고 필드레코딩이다.

Passing Josh
Although he bears the “Passing Josh” moniker, Josh is in a stationary state during the performance. Whilst confined within his space, the music engenders transcendent freedom.
“Passing Josh” is an experimental musician who uses modulated effects on instruments such as mouth organs and jaw harps to create improvisational soundscape concerts. He performs at live clubs in Hongdae, invitational performances, open mics events, and performances at Yogiga. Recently he has participated in collective improvisation series “For Instance” (2014) and “Ttakji Series” (2015).

Ian-John Hutchinson
Ian-John studied with composer and instrument maker Phil Dadson at Auckland University in 2001. He has participated in improvisation events in Auckland (Vitamin S), Tokyo, Osaka (MIIT House) and Seoul (Bulgasari and Contact Dance
Improvisation Group). In 2010 he did a residency at Seoksu Art Project in South Korea, and performed at the 2012 Gwangju Biennalle. He is interested in the blues harmonica, self-made instruments and field-recordings.

5월 23일 스페이스 원에서 오후 5시 부터 10시 까지 총 6편의 단편 및 장편 영화가 상영됩니다. (기획: Lior Shamriz)
이번 컬렉션은 공간에서 고립된 소리들의 모음이다. 하나의 방, 길 그리고 골목과도 같은 여러 곳에 존재 하는 내부의 이야기들과 이야기가 머물렀던 장소 사이의 거리감을 관찰한다. 각각의 영화는 기능적이기도 하고 또는 그렇지 않은 그들만의 성격을 가지고 있다. 이는 공간으로 부터의 망명과도 같다. 우리는 '진정한' 시네마는 자아와 장소 간의 거리감을 거부하는 대신, 자아와 장소와의 결합을 지향하는 것으로 교육받아왔다. 이 함정을 피하기 위해서는 오히려 잠시라도 장소와 한 몸이 되는 것을 허용하는 일이 이루어져야 한다. 여전히 외부에 대한 두려움을 안고 있는 사회에서 오는 시인의 절망은 나병환자들의 거주지에서 발견된 미래나 썩어가는 땅 위의 살인자가 가진 자아 연민과도 같다.
스페이스원은 5월 23일 하루 동안 다른 방에서 다른 스크린으로 다양한 영화를 상영함으로서 여러 개의 시각적인 소리로 탈바꿈한다 -Lior Shamriz-

Space One presents a one day film screening curated by Lior Shamriz.
Magic is merely domestic. Dignity is merely domestic.
The poet is stepping out of the airplane.
My house is merely domestic. I live in my house; my skin lives in my house. We are domestic. My house is merely domestic. We are a lie to disguise the nature of art. (Jack Spencer) This is a collection of voices alienated from spaces, films that examine a distance between an inner-narration and the room, streets, alleys they inhabit.
Each film a particular facet. Some dysfunctional, some not. Exiles from space itself. We were falsely taught to see “true” cinema as the negation of this distance. Rather - as a conjunction of self and the place. To avoid this trap, to transcend this obstacle is to allow the poet to become a body in a room, even for a bit.
The hopelessness of a poetess in an eternally xenophobic society; The future another one finds in a leper colony; The self-pity of a murderer in a decaying territory. Space One transforms momentarily into a multiplicity of visual voices with the presentation of different films in different rooms, on different screens. -Lior Shamriz -

Dostoevsky의 'Crime and Punishment' 에 영감을 얻은 작품으로 초현실주의적 에너지와 잔혹한 흑백 사실주의적 접근 방법을 결합하여 폭력의 실태를 탐험한다.

· The Seventh Walk (2013) / Amit Dutta
신비한 소리와 발자국을 따라가며, 한 화가가 숲속의 초현실; 그의 그림안에서 방황한다. 인도 추상화가 Paramit Singh의 Kangra Valley의 풍경화는 상상의 세계를 펼친다. 동양과 서양, 고전에서 전설까지, 시인 Kalidasa 에서 전설, 하이쿠에서 이상한 나라의 엘리스까지 다양한 세계가 펼쳐진다.

· Maillart Bridges (2001) / Heinz Emigholz
헤인즈 에미그홀즈의 대작 다큐멘타리로 강철과 콘크리트 분야의 선구자인 Robert Maillart가 지은 다리를 조사한다.

· The House is Black (1963) / Forough Farrokhzad
이란의 북쪽 지방 'Leper colony' 를 배경으로 만들어진 단편 다큐멘타리 'The House is Black' 은 '추' (ugliness) 의 모습을 종교와 감사와 나란히 놓아 대조한다.

· L’amour sauvage (2014) / Lior Shamriz
잃어버린 사랑, 잃어버린 예술 콜라보레이션, 그녀가 그가 사는 도시에 잠시 방문을 하며 그 둘이 하루밤 만난다.

· Semra Ertan (2014) / Cana Bilir-Meier
Semra Ertan 은 1956년 터키에서 태어나, 통역가 및 350 여개의 시를 쓴 시인이기도 하다. 1982년 함부르크 에서 독일의 xenophobia 와 인종차별에 저항하는 시위로 분신 자살했다.

· Dissolution (2012) / Nina Menkes
Loosely inspired by Dostoevsky's CRIME AND PUNISHMENT, 'DISSOLUTION' combines an almost surreal fairy-tale energy with brutal black and white realism to explore the condition of violence. Filmed in Jaffa / Tel Aviv by American filmmaker Nina Menkes.

· The Seventh Walk (2013) / Amit Dutta
Led by mysterious sounds and footprints, a painter wanders within a surreal space of the forest, his own paintings and oneiric spaces.As seen in this meditation on art and interpretation, Indian abstract painter Paramjit Singh's landscape paintings of the Kangra Valley open a free play of imagination, evoking diverse Eastern and Western, classical and folk associations, from Sanskrit poet Kalidasa and local myths and legends to haiku and Alice in Wonderlan

· Maillart Bridges (2001) / Heinz Emigholz
In this captivating and informative documentary, award-winning filmmaker Heinz Emigholz continues his exploration of architecture as autobiography by examining the work of legendary bridge-builder Robert Maillart, who revolutionized concrete based construction.

· The House is Black (1963) / Forough Farrokhzad
Set in a leper colony in the north of Iran, The House is Black juxtaposes "ugliness," of which there is much in the world as stated in the opening scenes, with religion and gratitude.

· L’amour sauvage (2014) / Lior Shamriz
Lost love, lost artistic collaboration, the two are meeting for one night as she briefly visits the city where he still lives.

· Semra Ertan (2014) / Cana Bilir-Meier
Semra Ertan was born in Turkey in 1956. She worked as an interpreter and wrote over 350 poems. In 1982 she burnt herself to death in Hamburg to protest against xenophobia and racism in Germany.
